The first trek related purchase is my day rucksack.
I went for an Osprey Tempest 30. It has so many pockets and clips and stringy bits that I feel I need to go on a course just to understand how to use it properly! The main thing for me was having a breathable back, space for a water bladder, somewhere to stow my trekking poles and enough room to carry lots of clothing layers and snacks. I also like that you can adjust the torso length so the hip belt sits comfortably. It’s also a pretty colour!

Despite only buying walking shoes in January, I need boots for the Himalayas. I went to Cotswold outdoor and made use of my Blue Light Card discount to but these Salomon X Ultra Mid GTX boots.
